The Award
The International Commission for Acoustics has established an annual award to recognize an outstanding outreach activity undertaken by a group, committee, or an individual member of a national Member Society or an International Affiliate during the previous year.
The award will be accompanied by an amount of € 1,000 and a certificate of achievement and will be presented at an appropriate ICA event.
In order for an application to be eligible for receiving the award, it should be associated with an outreach activity which should be outside the usual membership base. The award will be based on the decision of a judging panel appointed by the ICA board and will be given for a period of 10 years starting 2024. In any one year, the judging panel may decide to share the award across more than one application or decide not to award.

Invitation
The ICA Member Societies and International Affiliates are invited to submit an application for one outreach activity that has been held in the current year which follows the specifications set by the ICA.
The activity could be organized directly by the Society, a group of individuals related to the Society, or an individual Society member. Acknowledgment that the activity is related to the National Society or International Affiliate should be identified in some way – for example by the National Society or International Affiliate name and/or logo on the promotion.
The application should contain the application form and a description of the activity (PDF file, max 2 MB).
This summary should include the details of the event, links to web site, social media listing if applicable, or any other evidence of the promotion. The summary should also include an explanation of how the activity has highlighted the importance of sound in our world to those outside the usual membership base and give an estimate of the impact.
Timeline and application deadline
The activity must have taken place in the year preceding that of participation in the award.
The deadline for the submission of the application for the current year is the end of April 2026.
