The inaugural ICA International Year of Sound Award was conferred upon a collaborative tri-national initiative hosted on 26 April 2023 during the 28th International Noise Awareness Day (INAD 2023).
Awarded Initiative: The symposium titled “Keep your hearing, keep your health” (held under the umbrella theme “Sound that unites us”).
Collaborating Organisations:
- The Acoustical Society of Italy (AIA)
- The Acoustical Society of Spain (SEA)
- The Acoustical Society of Turkey (TAKDER)
Event Highlights: The initiative brought together hundreds of school pupils and international participants across the three countries. The event featured educational documentary screenings, student competition showcases, and a specialized scientific workshop addressing noise exposure and acoustic awareness in educational environments.
