The ICA Early Career Award is a major international award that acknowledges excellence in a young acoustician.
Qualifications
The ICA Early Career Award is presented at the Triennial Congress to an individual who is relatively early in his/her professional career (about 10-15 years of active career), who has contributed substantially, through published papers, to the advancement of theoretical or applied acoustics or both and who has been active in the affairs of Acoustics through his/her National Society, other National Society(ies), Regional or International organizations.

The Award
The Award consists of an Award Certificate, a Medal, and an Honorarium. The honorarium for the Early Career award to be announced at the ICA 2019 Congress will be Euro 2,000.
Award Presentation
The award shall be presented at the banquet or a Plenary Session of the ICA Triennial Congress by the President of the Board of the ICA. The award recipient will be introduced by an individual from the nominating National Society and given the opportunity to make remarks in acceptance of the award. The award recipient will present a paper during the Congress and this presentation will be clearly identified in the program. A list of award recipients and a photograph of the most recent award recipient and his/her citation will be listed on the ICA website.

Member Societies will be invited to submit nominations for the award
Individual members of a Member Society can self nominate
9 months prior to the Triennial Congress

7 months prior to the Triennial Congress

Submissions
Submissions should be sent only by email attachment, and preferably in a single file, to the ICA EC Grant Chair (ICAECGrantChair@icacommission.org). Title of the email should be “ICA Early Career Award”. Submissions by airmail cannot be accepted.
The submission must include the following:
- One nominating letter,
Two supporting letters,
Professional facts document (form available), and
Full curriculum vitae.
