The organizers have received 1354 abstracts for the joint meeting of the ICA 2025, the 25th International Congress on Acoustics
and the 188th Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America in New Orleans, USA.
There are 65 planned special sessions in the areas of acoustical oceanography, animal bioacoustics, architectural acoustics, biomedical acoustics, computational acoustics, education in acoustics, engineering acoustics, musical acoustics, noise, physical acoustics, psychological and physiological acoustics, signal processing in acoustics, speech communication, structural acoustics and vibration, and underwater acoustics. Renowned experts in their respective fields will also give five plenary lectures.
ICA 2025 will commence on the evening of Sunday, May 18, with an opening ceremony that will include a history of New Orleans jazz by musician and jazz historian Dr. Michael White and his band, followed by a welcoming reception. During the week, the Congress will be accompanied by an exhibition in the hotel where companies will be able to display their latest technologies and services.
Immediately following ICA 2025, starting on Sunday, May 25, the International Symposium on Musical and Room Acoustics (ISMRA), organized by Dave Woolworth, Andy Piacsek, and Scott McDermott) will take place over three days on the campus of Loyola University, just a short streetcar ride away from the ICA Congress venue. The first day will feature plenary sessions and keynote speakers addressing topics that encompass both musical and room acoustics. The following days will have parallel sessions, both oral and poster, on technical topics of interest to the respective musical acoustics and room acoustics communities.
